Normally it is in Config.sys(eg, device=C:\HIMEM.sys)See if it is missing here. Then check to see if someone might have put a REM infront of it.If so, took the REM out. A corrupt himem.sys file perhaps, or is another file corrupt somewhere else? Any info greatly appreciated and desperately needed.

When starting to boot a message comes up that a file is missing or corrupt: System32\DRIVERS\pci.sys She only has a system restore disk. When installed in cd, the message says to push r at next screen. The next screen never comes up. I went to bios and changed boot order to start with cd.
